General.–Curative in disorders that exhibit interstitial inflammation and cellular proliferation in any part. Hypertrophy and induration of connective tissue. Has considerable reputation in leprosy and lupus, when there is no ulceration. The skin symptoms are very important. Of great use in ulceration of womb. Difficulty in maintaining the upright posture. Very copious perspiration. Pains of cervical cancer.
Face.–Pain in left cheek-bones and about orbits.
Female.–Pruritus of vagina. Inflammation of neck of bladder. Heat within vagina. Granular ulceration of womb. Profuse leucorrhœa. Dull pain in ovarian region. Cervical redness.
Skin.–Dry eruptions. Great thickening of epidermoid layer and exfoliation of scales. Psoriasis gyrate, on trunk and extremities, palms and soles. Pustules on chest. Circular spots, with scaly edges. Intolerable itching, especially of soles. Profuse sweat. Syphilitic affections. Acne. Leprosy. Elephantiasis (Ars). Lupus non-exedens.
Relationship.–Compare: Elæis-South American Palm–(scleroderma, elephantiasis, leprosy, skin thickened, itching and hardened. Anæsthesia). Hura; Trychnos Gaultheriana (bites of serpents, ulcers and cutaneous affections generally); Hoang-Nan. Chaulomoogra oil from seed of Taraktogenos; Hydrast; Arsenic; Aurum; Sepia.
Dose.–First to sixth potency.

General.–Excellent medicine for jaundice; leprosy, skin diseases, syphilis, gonorrhea, dropsy, leucorrhea, elephantiasis. It is a diuretic, aperient (to relieve constipation), and tonic’ efficacious in nervous debility and seminal weakness.
Mind.–Gloomy; misanthropy; desire for solitude; indifferent; loquacious; weak memory.
Head.–Vertigo with torpor; neuralgic pain in external frontal nerve; occiput acutely sensitive.
Stomach.–Anorexia, then strong appetite; aversion to tobacco smoking.
Rectum.–Burning and itching in anus; weight in rectum.
Urinary.–Frequent desire to urinate; urine becomes brown on standing.–turbid with sediment.
Male.–Drawing pain in spermatic cords; impotency; indifference to intercourse.
Female.–Leucorrhea; heaviness in uterus; vulva, vagina, and cervix are red; severe labor-like pain in uterus.
Respiratory.–Dryness of larynx; weak voice; talking is tiring; difficult to expectorate bronchial mucus; shortness of breath.
Heart and pulse.–Constriction of heart; cardiac spasm; irregular beating of heart; pulse strong and full, regular.
Skin.–Circular spots with raised scaly edges; miliary eruptions on neck, back, chest; itching at tip of nose; thickening of epidermoid layer and exfoliation of scales; syphilitic affections; stomatitis, either aphthous or syphilitic.
Fever.–Shivering in afternoon; hands and feet cold, ameliorated by rubbing and becomes cold on cessation of rubbing.
Dose.–Mother tincture, 3x, 6x.
