TRICHOSANTHES DIO

(Patal—Indian)

General.–Chronic malarial fever, kala-azar; nausea and vomiting.

Mind.–Despondent.

Head.–Vertigo while lying in bed; severe headache with fever.

Eyes.–Yellow; dilated pupil.

Mouth.–Thirst, dryness of throat; slimy salivation; bad taste; constant water brash; bitter taste.

Throat.–Sore.

Stomach.–Nausea and water brash with distention of abdomen. Vomitus is stingy mucus, may be streaked with blood. Eructation and vomiting after drinking water. Extreme hunger, must eat something in morning; great desire for cold food. Burning in whole body associated with thirst.

Abdomen.–Empty feeling, uneasiness, hot feeling at 11 a.m. Pain owing to enlargement of liver and spleen, worse from sneezing, coughing, motion, etc.

Stool.–Copious, greenish yellow, watery, with bile and mucus. Bloody; exhausted due to frequent passage; smarting in anus.

Urine.–Scanty, red urine, retention along with purgation and vomiting.

Extremities.–Swelling of lower extremities.

Fever.–fever at 11 a.m. to 12 noon with chilliness; during fever, burning in whole body; rise in temperature associated with headache and thirst. Acute fever with vomiting, nausea, water brash. Intensity of fever rises next day. Useful in all kinds of fever with bilious symptoms. Headache, water brash, and nausea are key symptoms for its administration. In chronic fever with enlargement of liver and spleen.

Dose.–Mother tincture, 3x, 6x, 30.
