    • For example:
      • Headache → Try keywords like “head” or “ache”
      • Swollen knee → Try “swelling” or “knee”
  2. Locate the Appropriate Chapter
    Find the chapter that matches the body part or system involved.
    • For example:
      • “Head” for head-related complaints
      • “Extremities” for arms, legs, joints, and bones
  3. Use the Search Function
    Use the search function to find the symptom-related keyword in the chapter.
  4. Find the Remedy
    Browse the list of symptoms until you find the one that matches most closely. Each symptom presents  the possible remedy next to it.
  5. View Remedy Details
    Clicking on a remedy name will open its detailed profile from Boericke’s Materia Medica, offering a full drug picture to support your clinical decision.
  6. Explore the “General” and “Mind” Chapters
    For a more complete search, be sure to also check the “General” chapter. In addition, since emotional temperament, stressors, fears, and coping styles are vital in homeopathic remedy selection, consider exploring the “Mind” chapter for relevant mental and emotional symptoms.

If a patient presents with intense bone pain in their limbs:

  • Keywords: “bone” or “pain”
  • Open the Extremities chapter
  • Use the browser search to find “bone” or “pain”
  • Review matching entries and note the associated remedies
  • Click on any remedy name to view its detailed description
